The challenge
The client is a generative AI design platform for real-estate. Its users are architects, and architects work in Autodesk Revit. Without a Revit export, the platform’s generative output stopped at preview. Architects could see it inside the product but could not pick it up in the tool they actually design in, which made it hard to use the output as the starting point of a real project.
Approach
Lagarsoft built the export as part of the platform’s normal workflow. The conversion runs server-side through Autodesk Design Automation, without anyone opening Revit, and produces a complete Revit model from the platform’s generative output. The architect receives a file they can open and continue working in, the same way they would with any other Revit project.
What we built
- Server-side conversion from the platform’s generative output to Autodesk Revit
- Autodesk Design Automation pipeline so no human ever opens Revit during the export
- A complete Revit model on the architect’s side, ready to edit on day one
- Workflow integration so the export is part of the product, not a separate step
Outcome
The platform now hands its architect users a familiar deliverable as part of its normal flow. Generative output goes from preview to a Revit file the architect can run with on day one, which keeps the platform’s users inside its own product and lowers the cost of acting on what the AI proposed.
Frequently asked
- What does the export produce?
- A complete Autodesk Revit model derived from the platform’s generative design output. Architects open it as they would any other Revit project and continue from there.
- Does anyone have to open Revit to run the conversion?
- No. The conversion runs server-side through Autodesk Design Automation, with no human operating Revit. The export is part of the platform’s normal workflow.
- Why Revit specifically?
- Because the platform’s users are architects, and architects work in Revit. Handing them a Revit file means they can act on the AI’s output inside the tool they already design in.
